Mission BriefEscort the traders to the Trader Camp.
Thank Avo you're here, I thought we were going die in the hellish place. We have to get to the barrow fields at the other end of Darkwood, you lead the way, we'll be right behind you. The sooner we put this forest behind us the better, there are unnatural things out there.Rewards| Gold: | 2000 Gold |

As you enter the Darkwood Entrance, you will be approached by two traders seeking an escort through the Darkwood, there want you to get them safely to the Trader camp in Barrow Fields.
Follow the path down the hill through the Darkwood Entrance, a ford crosses the path and as you approach you'll see a beast jump into the air, leaving a survivor behind. When you get close the survivor, another trader will ask for your assistance. Wounded by a creature he'll ask to join your party requesting safe passage through to Barrow Fields.
If you decline the third trader you'll get 60 bad points where as accepting his request and safely getting him to Barrow Fields, offers 200 gold in reward. If you don't move through the level quick enough the third trader will turn at some point, should you choose to escort him. If you kill him once he's turned you will gain +2 good points and 12 renown.
After you've made your decision carry on following the path, noting the destructible barrels on the left and ensuring you retrieve the Resurrection Phial from chest on the right at the end of the small path. Continue moving through the Darkwood Entrance making your way through the gateway leading to Darkwood Marshes.

Once inside the camera will show the beast that earlier attacked the Third trader feasting on a bandit. As you approach the beast will leap to the skies, landing nearby. Kill the beast while trying to protect the 2 or 3 traders, if you can keep it locked in a parry it won't be able to jump away other wise every now and then it will retreat and reappear shortly afterwards. There is a Demon Door in this area of the Darkwood, however I'd advise avoiding it until the traders are safe as it requires some combat. With the beast dead continue your way around the corner and down the stairs to the marsh area, here you'll find an area covered in spores. Don't get too close, I'd advise removing them all with the bow there are around 10 to destroy. Once the area is cleared cross the marsh land and use the gate to travel to, Darkwood Lake.

As you start to move down the hill watch out for the two bandits down the small path to the left. Try not to let them past you as they will run straight to the traders. Once they're dead explore the little area that they came from, there two barrels with a Green Apple and Pie inside as well as a chest that contains Leather Boots.
Tell the traders to stay near this chest and move towards the water, down the hill. As you reach the waters edge, two bandits will appear from the right, and another two from the left. Keep them occupied and try not to let them advance up the hill, towards the traders. To the right you'll find another chest with 250 Gold inside. As you approach the chest another bandit appear, be quick to kill him before he makes his way towards the traders. Walk past the magical stone on the right and another three bandits will attack from the left. With all the bandits dealt with return to your traders and escort them through to Darkwood Camp. Darkwood camp is a traders camp, your clients can wait in if you want to carry on with another mission, or clear the area's ahead.

Inside the camp there are a few chest's to open, the first being on the left as you enter the camp, inside you'll find a Steel Axe. Explore further into the camp, there is a tent on the left with another chest just in front of it. Opening it will gain you a Resurrection Phial. Opposite the chest there are two barrels, breaking them apart you'll find the Dark Vortex Tattoo. Continue moving south through the Ancient Cullis Gate, As you enter the area you'll see quite a few enemies on the map, if you didn't leave the traders at the camp order them to stay near the gate. Follow the path down until you reach a small circular area with a magical platform in the centre, there will be three regular bandits and a chieftain. The bandits didn't seem to concerned with the traders when I left them near the gate, instead focusing on you

With those four enemies dead continue on your journey over the small stone and wood bridge, where you'll find another four bandits two with crossbows and two with axes. Keep following the path until you reach another bridge, on the left near the entrance of the bridge is another chest containing a
Resurrection Phial. Cross the final bridge where Hobbe grunts are standing guard, kill the four Hobbes and you're clear to move into the next area, Darkwood Weir.
Go down the steps and across the river, follow the path up the hill to be confronted by a troll.
During combat with the troll you can unlock the Feed the troll achievement, to do so you need to hit one of the rocks that he throws with a swing of your sword. It will knock the rock back towards the troll. The troll is relatively easy to defeat, it's just a case of keep chipping away at him and dodging his attacks. He's got a couple of main attacks and he advertises them quite well:
- Double fist slam - he slowly raises his arms and then slams them down. This is an Area of effect attack so make sure to get clear before he attacks.
- Ground Pumping - he will raise one hand quite quickly and then start punching you alternating fist's, this attack doesn't last very long and is used to throw rocks at you.
Once the Troll is dead he will drop a
Ruby and you'll gain +2 good points and 90 renown.
Move through the cave to go to Barrow Fields, once at Barrow Fields the traders will lead the way, once you follow them over the bridge the mission is complete.
