Upgrading the Workbench

Perhaps the most useful of all the craftables in Valheim is the Workbench, you need it to be able to build any struture and certain fixtures and fittings. The Workbench also offers the abilities to build and repair weapons and tools. Each upgrade requires a workbench to be upgraded to a specific level by obtaining the Chopping Block, Tanning Rack, Adze and a unknown component (I will update as I discover it).

Levels

Level 1 - Workbench
Level 2 - Chopping Block
Level 3 - Tanning Rack
Level 4 - Adze
Level 5 - Tool Shelf

Required Materials

	Wood can be obtained from any of the trees in the meadows, as well as tree stumps, bushes and loose branches lying around.
	Flint again can be found on the shore line, look for the light grey, almost white oval shaped rocks.
	Leather Scrapes can be obtained by hunting boar's I'd recommend sneaking and using a bow and arrow. Although you can use an axe or knife. Boars won't run away but will attack you.
	Deer Hide as the name suggests, these can be gathered from hunting deer. Deer are easily spooked so I'd recommend using a bow and arrow, failing that sneak behind them and attack them with an axe or knife.
	Fine wood can be found in the meadows look out for the silver skinned birch trees or the big thick oak trees. Alternatively fine wood can be gathered from destroying boat wrecks that you will find on shores in the Black Forest.
	Bronze requires construction at the Forge and requires 2 Copper (They look like rock with golden slivers and are found in the Dark Forest) and 1 Tin (Can be found along shorelines in the Black Forest, Look like a silver rock).
	Iron can be mined from Muddy Scraps Piles in the swamp they are primarily found in the sunken crypts but do also appear dotted around the swamps.
	Obsidian can be mined from the mountains and requires an Iron Pickaxe. It's found in a dark silver medium size rock that has black lines running around it, they can be found in the mountains

Workbench - Level 1

Building a workbench to unlock construction is quite simple, it only requires a hammer (3 Wood, 2 Stone) and 2 squares of flat land. Those basic requirements will allow you to start building but not give you access to the full workbench facilities, for those you will need to give the workbench a roof and a couple of walls.

Chopping Block - Level 2

To unlock level 2 of the Workbench you will need to build a Chopping Block. These are very easy to unlock early in the game.

Tanning Rack - Level 3

To unlock level 3 of the Workbench you will need to build the Tanning Rack. Again relatively easy to unlock early in the game.

Adze - Level 4

The Adze which unlocks level 4 of the workbench is a bit trickier to get hold of very early on. You will need to have beaten Eikthyr and crafted an Antler Pickaxe (10 Wood, 1 Hard Antler gained by killing Eikthyr). You will also need to have constructed a Forge (4 Stone, 4 Coal, 10 Wood, 6 Copper).

Adze Requirements

Tool Shelf - Level 5

It's takes quite a bit of time to get to the tool shelf, You'll need access to the mountains, which either requires frost resistance potion, Wolf armor chest or the Lox Cape. From the mountains you can get Obsidian (A medium size silver rock with black lines over it). You'll also need to have a forge, that was required for the Adze.
